(1) There will be a Plant Quarantine Committee to give opinions and suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding the quarantine policy of plants and plant products.
(2) The committee under sub-section (1) shall have the following chairman and members:-
(a) Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development - Chairman (b) Joint Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (See World Trade Organization) – Member
(c) Joint Secretary, Ministry of Forests and Environment -Member (d) Director General, Customs Department – ​​Member
(e) Executive Director, Nepal Agricultural Research Council – Member (f) Representative, Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Member
(G) Two experts including one woman nominated by the Government of Nepal (h) Three persons including at least one woman nominated by the Government of Nepal from farmers with relevant experience - members
(i) Head, National Plant Protection Organization – Member
(j) Head, National Plant Quarantine Program – Member-Secretary
(3) The term of office of the members as per clauses (g) and (h) of sub-section 2 shall be three years.
